The Rockin' Robbins summer concert series produced by Willmar Rotary rocked it out of the park this summer. If you did not attend one of the four concert events this summer, you missed some of the biggest happenings in Willmar.Rockin' Robbins was a fabulous summer event over four straight Tuesday nig...
THANK YOU, SPONSORS! When we brought our idea for a summer concert series to these businesses and asked for their support, they stepped up and said "We're in!" Thank you so much for believing in Rockin' Robbins and the Willmar Rotary Club! We are so grateful for your support in helping us showcase the potential of our beautiful Robbins Island Park. More news on future improvements coming soon!
"I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank the Willmar Lakes Area community for what is turning out to be a heck of a good summer for our community. In my opinion, the summer of 2017 has made us feel like a community again.
When I reflect back on why I feel this way it’s because of projects that come to mind like the Willmar Destination Playground, Rockin' Robbins, Feed My Starving Children and Better Together for West Central Minnesota food packing events, premiere of the movie “Warehoused,” Taste of Downtown, new commercial, health care, industrial buildings and housing being built all over the city, new school buildings, elected officials’ community engagement and leadership, community education and involvement at the community center and the list goes on and on.
It is so exciting to see that when we have an event, hundreds of people are showing up, rolling up their sleeves and working next to their neighbors, regardless of their ethnic background, economic well-being, etc., but rather because it’s the right thing to do and it’s helping our community to continue to grow and prosper.
The Willmar Lakes Area is in a good place right now and the future looks even brighter. Your support, both volunteer-wise and financially, has been outstanding and has brought our community back together.
So many of the things that have happened, started with an idea, dream, or vision and then became a reality. True collaboration and partnerships are making this happen over and over again. The spark of leadership is caused by committed local people willing to risk failure to reach for success.
Remember, imagination costs nothing, but it sure can create opportunities. We are proof of that."
I attend Willmarfest every year and this year Rockin Robbins Chris Hawkey and I have to say Willmar throws the BEST FUN! Hats off to all the volunteers and workers who put this great stuff together!! Can't wait for 2018!!!
Perfectly said. All Willmar Area Residents have good reason to be proud.
I went to Matt Vee and to the Armadillos ... what great evenings they were! Great music, great venue, great weather! And, the parking and leaving at the end were flawlessly smooth! Thank you to everyone who helps put this on! Looking forward to next year!
